How to Play Shikaku
Shikaku is a logic puzzle where you divide the entire grid into rectangles. Every rectangle must contain exactly one numbered cell, and the total number of cells inside that rectangle must match the number.
Shikaku Rules
- Each number represents the area of one rectangle.

- Rectangles cannot overlap.
- Every cell in the Shikaku grid must be covered.
- Only rectangular shapes are allowed. L-shapes and irregular regions are not valid.
Shikaku Tips
- Start with numbers near corners and edges.
- Look at larger numbers first because they often have fewer possible rectangle shapes.
- Use completed rectangles to eliminate impossible spaces.
- Remember that a number such as 6 can form a 1×6, 2×3, 3×2, or 6×1 rectangle.
